Our beloved wife and mother...
...was a passionate English teacher. Standing in front of a classroom discussing The Great Gatsby or The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was among the finest of roles in her life. If you asked her why she became a teacher, she’d say, “because students are the future.” Even on her most difficult days, battling cancer, she continued to work for a future she knew she might not live in.
We, her family, appreciate your condolences and feel that no gifts are necessary. But if you are compelled, we’d rather you made a donation to support the students at Palisades Charter High School, where she taught for over a decade, than sending flowers to us.
It’s hard to imagine a world without Anita. But, we like to think her passion for education will have effects that ripple out into the future.
And that the future is better place because of her.
